Sheriff Richard D. Wiles was raised and educated in El Paso, graduating from Andress High School in 1979. Sheriff Wiles joined the El Paso Police Department in 1982 and rose quickly to leadership positions.
"Leave no Veteran Behind and Honor their Service" This program is supported by a grant from the Texas Veterans Commission Fund for Veterans' Assistance. The Fund for Veterans' Assistance provides grants to organizations serving veterans and more.
The city appointed Peter Pacillas – who has served as an assistant police chief nearly as long as Allen served as chief – as interim police chief earlier this month. Pacillas graduated from the El Paso Police Academy in 1988.
